Description: «Login» to edit the description	I'm preparing a business proposal so at this point I need an idea of cost: Need programmer that can make nice looking website with fairly advanced database (users) management. Two different kind of users, one will need permissions from me to get. Website will have a lot of uploaded material, the database will have to keep track of all uploaded material, the amount of times downloaded, and possibly more advanced things (such as tracking advertisements). It has to be relatively easy for me to work with -- I'm a linux user so I can catch on to quite a bit. If you need more details feel free to ask. I also need to know if you're willing to work with someones elses code...I have someone working on a GPL database program that they say may work and they are willing to give for free Additional Info (Added 1/21/2009 at 13:41 (MST))... Summary This site will be a combination publishing/e-book site. Books will be paid in full with advertisements placed within books, authors will be paid a percentage of the revenue generated from their books. Advertisements will be paid on a per download basis, meaning that advertising companies will pay for a bundle of a certain number of ads which will be placed in a book or several books and their number of ads will be the number of downloads which the book(s) receive. What I am Looking For I am looking for both a web developer and a database developer (preferably the same company/person). Website I want the website to be very straight forward. In my head I imagine something like netflix.com, except I will want the home page for non users to have more content than that of netflix. Basic search functions and such will be needed. The website will entail genres of books (as well as other categories such as Editor's Pick), where when you click on the link you will get a list of the most recent (as well as maybe the ability to organize by most popular) books in that category. Then each listed book will have a link to go to a summary, information about the author, etc... Very similar to how netflix does their site with movies. I'll also want it where users have their own home page when they login, listing their most recent downloads, reviews/comments they've given, and maybe have a “friend” system, where users can become friends with other members so their home page will list their friends as well. Database There are a few things I need in the database function, and a few which are hopeful but not necessary. I have a list of Minimum and Additional. I need this database to be made in such a way that I will be able to manage it once it is created. Minimum Users and Password (again with their own home page and such) Lists of all material on the website (all books, or any other material) Number of downloads per item (it would be nice to get a total as well as maybe day/week/year, also I need it to take into account that two downloads for one user is only 1 download total, so it's more total users which have downloaded the material) Number of downloads per user (also by day/week/year/total) Material Downloaded per user (list of what has been downloaded by a user) Additional If I could set it up to where I can add ads to the listings, so material will be connected to ads, so a download for book X will also add a download for all ads within that book. Reminder that an add can be connected to many books, so it would be the total amount of downloads for all books that are connected to the ad. If the above is possible, in addition An automated system where once an add is about to fulfill my contract with the ad company (the amount of downloads they paid for has almost been fulfilled) I either get an email informing me of which ad so I can update the book with a new ad and replace the previous book with the new edition or I can prearrange to have a previously made “new version” uploaded once the contract is fulfilled of a company.
